SCOPE OF WORK

As a result of the All England Lawn Tennis Association's desire to maintain Wimbledon as one of the world's premier tennis locations, the AELTCC commissioned an ongoing programme of new building, renovation and refurbishment.

The Byrne Group has had a strong presence every year since 1988, when Byrne Bros were awarded their first concrete package. Ellmer Construction have been involved every year since 1995, when Try Construction awarded their first multi-trade fit out and specialist joinery package. Touchwood Specialist Joinery have been involved at the All England Club since 2003.

A selection of the works completed by Ellmer at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 1995 are as follows:

  • East Stand alterations to Centre Court
  • Refurbishment of BBC commentary boxes
  • Three-storey extension to the North Building Centre Court
  • Replacement of roof structure to Centre Court
  • New No. 1 Court
  • New facilities building (Millennium Building)
  • Refurbishment and alternations to Centre Court South
  • Stand and Clubhouse
  • Refurbishment to members and players changing rooms
  • Various restaurants including members and debentures
  • All W.C.s
  • Complete fit out to Royal Box, including specialist joinery
  • New turnstiles building and refurbishment to Museum
  • Improvements to Centre Court and retractable roof.
