Ellmer Construction has again proved its high standing in the fit out sector.
Following on from our success at last year’s CIOB Construction Manager of the Year Awards, winning two gold medals in the refurbishment and fit out category, Ellmer have been short listed for the Specialists in Construction Awards 2006.
The Awards, to be held at the London Hilton Park Lane Hotel on 11th May 2006, recognise the achievements of specialist contractors in the Industry, rewarding not just an individual but the entire project team.
Ellmer entered the finish and fit out category for works carried out at the BBC Studios in Portland Place, London. The two year project, which commenced in September 2003, involved the construction and fit out of 32 sound recording studios within the existing Grade II Listed Old Broadcasting House.
The unique project posed many challenges, not least because the works were carried out in an environment where live radio was continually broadcasted. The project team overcame the complexities of the programme and exceeded the expectations of the client.
To be short listed for the Specialists in Construction Awards 2006 is a tremendous achievement and one of which we are very proud. The Awards this year received a record number of entries, making competition fiercer than ever. We wish the BBC Studios team every success at the Awards Ceremony in May!
