Ellmer Construction were the winner of The Bedfordshire Association of Architects Design and Craftsmanship Award 2011 for the "New House" category. The award was given for the recently completed private residence, Christmas Cottage.

The project comprised the construction of a large, split level family home with garage parking and a braced steel frame superstructure. The building is clad in a range of materials including bronze, copper and render with a large area of full height glazing. The interior of the building was constructed to a high standard, mechanical and electrical installations included a high standard of domestic installations and a number of specialist installations including a steam room and sauna.
